What I learned as a student of Rachel’s was and forever will be invaluable to me. While I came to her for help with submitting my applications to various BFA acting programs, what I learned was far more valuable than I could have ever hoped for. From day one she made it clear that in both my portfolio videos and written submissions she wasn’t there to erase my voice in my performance or writing. She works to make sure that her students’ work isn’t just her professional voice disguised, but rather a clarified version of their own. Even when it came to picking the pieces I ended up doing for my auditions, she made it clear that I needed to feel a personal connection to the text for it to be the strongest performance it could be. The thoroughness of her coaching is something that I’d be amiss to not mention. She guided me through audition prep, filming the pieces, and writing my submissions. I worked with Rachel for APUSH tutoring and she was amazing! I had a teacher who did not teach us the material and expected us to learn everything on our own which made the class very difficult. I was not being taught the information that I needed in order to do well on the AP exam and sought help from Rachel because of this. She was excellent at teaching me everything I needed to know for the exam and I learned more from her in our sessions than I did from my teacher at school. I ended up getting a 5 on the exam because of Rachel’s help. Rachel is a great tutor and is very passionate about the material she teaches which makes working with her so great.

Both Jason and Rachel have been absolutely amazing! I entered the essay-writing process with very minimal knowledge on what colleges were truly looking for, and they taught me so much about how to improve upon my language and how to stay focused when writing. They are also two of the nicest people I've ever met, and they've been so supportive of me throughout this stressful time. I've found myself continuously astounded by Jason's vocabulary as well as his talent when it comes to cutting down words in an essay. Applying to graduate school was not something I was really looking forward to doing, however, Rachel made me enjoy it. She taught me about the skills and techniques of storytelling and writing. In addition, she is so knowledgeable about the world and different programs you could be applying to. She helps make your application tell your true story. She is also very accommodating to your schedule, and will stay up till 1am making sure your essays are as perfect as they can get. I recommend Rachel wholeheartedly.
